Philadelphia Day of Empathy will have a focus on the impact of life without parole in the community. Pennsylvania sentences more inmates to life behind bars--without the possibility of parole--than any other country outside the United States. There are more than 5,300 in PA serving life without parole which means more than 5,300 families are impacted. Philadelphia's Day of Empathy will address this issue and help to facilitate conversation between community leaders, organizations, members and state legislators.
